The Liberation Tower Kuwait City is a 372-meter-high telecommunications tower in Kuwait City, Liberation Tower is a vertical cantilever structure, communications mast or tower, and the prestressed concrete tower that was built from 1987 until 1996. It is one of the most striking tourist attractions for visitors to Kuwait city.
The Tower being the 2nd tallest structure of Kuwait and the 5th tallest telecommunication tower in the world is 372m high. Though originally designated as The Kuwait Telecommunications Tower, the halt of its construction during the Iraqi invasion and continuation after the liberation, coined the name Liberation Tower, and hence stands in the memory of the same. It was inaugurated in 1996.
This is one must-visit destination when you are in Kuwait City. It houses many government offices so it remains close for public. Only on Liberation Day from morning 7am to 12 noon, it remains open to general public. There are no entrance fees. And lots of activities are organized on this special day on the observation platform.You will surely enjoy if you visit it.
Not to be confused with the distinctive Kuwait Towers, the striking Liberation Tower, with its UFO-like saucer, is the second-tallest tower in Kuwait.
Features: The tower accommodates a revolving restaurant, an observational platform, and radio and telecommunication offices. Other than the 16 internal elevators, the tower has 2 panoramic elevators, travels at a speed of 6.4m/sec.
Visiting hours: Due to security reasons, the tower is open for the public only on February 25th.
